Saturday Photo Hunt - Sweet

It's summer in the South! Is there anything sweeter or more refreshing than a tall class of sweet tea?
Southern Sweet Tea
Makes One Gallon
4 quart size tea bags (Luzianne is best!)
2 cups sugar (or Splenda, if you prefer)
Bring any amount of water to a boil, but about 1 quart works well. Remove water from burner, add tea bags, cover and steep for about 10-15 minutes. Gently squeeze out the tea bags before removing. Add sugar to hot tea and stir until completely dissolved. Add ice to the sugar/tea mix just to cool it a little before pouring into gallon container. Add more ice or cool water to make a full gallon.
Serve over ice with a wedge of lemon.
Store in refrigerator.

Oh, man, that is just making my mouth water. Really, like a Pavlovian reaction. I am totally salivating on sight!
Lovely.
Wow...that's really sweet of you to share the recipe. Nice shots too. Have a nice weekend :) http://crizlai.blogspot.com/2007/06/photo-hunters-sweet.html
Oh yyes now that sounds wonderfully refreshing. Happy weekend
Looks delicious! We are still in the south, barely. It's been so many years since we lived in VA, I don't remember if they know how to make sweet tea here or not!
what a great take on this weeks theme!!
I love sweet tea. There is nothing better on a hot summer's day. I'm making some now...
Great photo!! I'm going to get myself some sweet tea now! : p
i wanna drink one right now, the picture is great. Happy Hunting. ;-)
I don't even like sweet tea and my mouth is watering! ;-) It does look refreshing!
SWEET Photo Hunt
Looking at the cold glass of iced tea makes me want to gulp it down, :D So refreshingly lovely! Haven't tried doing that because all we ever have are those commercially-made varieties which are full of sugar. We just squeeze some native lemon variety to add twist.
Have a great weekend, Patricia.
You've made sweet tea into an art form!!
Oh, that looks so yummy! How I miss it!!
I would love to have one right now. I think it's going to be another hot day and a refreshing drink like that would be perfect. :)
Very sweet! I confess that I'm a sweet tea junkie; my mom is mailing me Luzianne tea bags halfway around the world so that my habit will not suffer!
Ive never tasted sweet tea...but I think I would love it! lol...Thanks for the recipe! My photo is up, please come and visit soon
Oh I never think of tea as being sweet because I take it without sugar! Looks very refreshing for the summer, but I'll just leave out the sugar
Patricia - although I don't like ice tea - this looks so refreshing. I actually have switched from pop to "Peach Green Tea". The problem is that I can only get that one at work. I have not found it in the stores yet *sigh*. I might have to try your Sweet Tea :)
Have a wonderful weekend...
Awesome! I'll be over in a bit. How far are you from Arkansas?!
I love me some sweet tea. There's nothin' finer on a hot summer's day.
Wow, I love it! :P
Mmm! Looks good;)
I shivered at the recipe though;)
I drink my tea just plain old tea. I guess that tells you where I am NOT from;)
Usually I would agreej, but we have such cold and rainy weather here in Belgium that I prefer hot sweet tea !
Great choice for today! Truly a Southern staple!
I'm originally from Texas, and this is exactly how we drank Tea. Perfect choice for Sweet :)
It is suppose to be rainy season over here but unfortunately summer doesn't want to leave us and that refreshing and sweet drink is just so cool.
Thanks for sharing on how to do it.
Mine is up too.
Refreshlying sweet! LOVE the perspective on the 2nd photo. Great picks for The Hunt. And thanks for the recipe.
My Sweet Entry
You take a great pic!
Looks perfect for a warm Summers day....
I remember on a trip through GA we stopped in a restaurant. My hubby ordered "regular tea" and in the deepest southern drawl the waitress said "honey, in the south, sweet tea IS regular tea." :)
Thanks for sharing the recipe!
Karen, that is sooooo true! If you order tea in most restaurants down here, you need to order it unsweetened, if that is the way you want it. Otherwise, iced sweet tea will be served. =)
My husband and I traveled to Banff, Canada, ten years ago and I was surprised when I ordered tea with my lunch and it was served to me hot.
I'm still not sure about cold tea, tea should be hot and sweet.
We make ours in the microwave. And it's some good stuff! I don't dare drink unsweet tea!
Oh, that looks sooooo refreshing!!
Happy Weekend!
Southern sweet tea sure is sweet. When I visited the South a few years back, it was too sweet for this Northerner!
This is great. May I blog it to my recipe blog? Thank you!
Oh geeze, I'm drooling... really I am.
Mmmmm... that sure does look refreshing!
Thank you!
It's up but not indexed yet.

AMEN! Two cups of sugar in a gallon. That's perfection.
There is nothing at all like Southern made sweet tea with lemon, unless is is Southern sweet tea with mint! The northern states just don't get it!
