Guess what I saw...

Common Green Darner Common Green Darner
and...

I can hardly decide which photo to show you today. The light today was nearly perfect and I was able to snap dozens of photographs without shadows.

I spent two whole hours outside writing this morning, not even looking for my colorful friend, but he joined the sparrows for a leisurely snack at the nearby feeder and of course I had my camera. Today's painted bunting slide show is here, if you want to take a look.

If you are interested, I even have a set of dragonfly photographs from today, too.

Unless the painted bunting does something incredibly spectacular, like showing up with the female, or flying over to me (I'm not holding my breath), you might be relieved to know that I am finally through taking and posting his picture.

Back to work...

Hurrah! Wonderful. Made my night. Psalm 8.

And, Louis looks like a guy I'd like to meet.

These are beautiful. Your photography is amazing. BTW I read A Slice of Infinity too, and Jill C is one of my favorite writers - so insightful, and she writes with such clarity and weight.
Have a good weekend!

Wonderful photos, as always, Patricia. So little I know about our feathered friends, I thought painted bunting was the one for babies, haha!
