Saturday Photo Hunt - Wooden

relaxing in the swing

For this week's wooden theme, I didn't have to peruse very far back into my flickr archives to find suitable photos of one of my favorite wooden places - my backyard swing.

And yes, I am fully aware that this swing has been the subject of other photo hunt themes, but I plead for mercy from my photo hunt pals on the grounds that I have been battling the flu most of this week.

Don't you just love my black Crocs? I've wanted a pair of Crocs for a long time but couldn't justify buying them. My sweet daughter-in-law Lizbeth drew my name for our family's Christmas gift exchange and that was her gift to me. Yeah Lizbeth! I love them.

Breakfast on the swing

I took this photo on Valentine's Day of my breakfast on the swing. Oatmeal with cranberries. Yum! And coffee, of course.

When I felt strong enough this week to leave the house, my first destination was the swing, where I could delight in the view of our gorgeous Florida sky through the wooden slats above me.

For "wooden" photos from other Photo Hunt participants, please click on the Photo Hunter Banner or the Technorati PhotoHunt tag below. The theme for next week's Photo Hunt is: party.

Oh my! I LOVE those crocs! They are the cutest pair I've seen with the fuzzy stuff on 'em.

I thought the oatmeal was red beans and rice when I first saw it, though. *LOL*! :0)

Oh, dear. this week's PhotoHunt may become expensive. I have already seen other things that I MUST have and here is your swing. DH is gone shortly for the day, I wonder where I might wander lookign for these things. I wonder what garden things are out this long before spring. I wonder how much cash I have.

Sorry to hear you've been so sick. I saw the nationwide flu map and it is ugly with a capital U! As dh is a pediatrician, it's keeping him hopping too!

Great pictures! I love your swing AND your crocs. Are those fuzzy lined?

Thank you all for visiting and for your kind remarks.

For those that asked, my crocs are fleece-lined. Warm and snuggly.

I think that I have visited all of you today, but if I somehow missed you, please let me know. Your visits to Pollywog Creek are important to me and I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Great shots. Re Crocs - I got me a pair of carrot-colored ones, so they will be able to see me from a satellite. In case I got swept out to the sea or something ;-)

I love me a swing! We have one but it isn't wooden. I spent many hours in the one on Daddy's front porch. I left it when we sold to my niece. So I still get to sit in it on occasion.
I'm happy you're back, missed you last week.

That looks like a place I'd be spending time in, too, if I were you! Of course, it's not swing type weather here- we've still got 6 inches of snow on the ground, and probably will have until almost May.
I hope you are feeling better each day.
I just noticed your Prayer List- what a great idea!

What a wonderful way to spend some time just appreciating God's blessings.

Is that swing where the heart on your side bar can be found?
