It's not all green...

With a small window of quiet time this morning in the relatively cool of the day, I wandered along the pond and creek ...

Before the Gavinator arrived ...
What a delightful day we had, too. While I worked on a few projects that needed to be completed today, Gavin played on the windowsill in my study with animal models that once belonged to his daddy. I have no idea how or why I saved them, but I'm sure glad that I did. In fact, I could kick myself for not keeping more of the boys' toys. What was I thinking?
Let this be a lesson to the moms with children still at home. You WILL be a grandmother some day, God willing. When your children outgrow their best toys, don't give them all away.

What a beautiful day you had! Here in Montana, we are struggling to find anything green...it's mostly brown, now, and crackly dry. How refreshing to see the verdant pictures on your blog!
I'll try to remember about keeping some of the toys. I'm grateful to my mother for being a packrat and saving so many things. My daughter is using my old Snoopy lunchbox for Kindergarten, and I have many of my childhood books.
Hope you have a great weekend!
I agree. In fact, I am putting the table and chairs in the attic for the greats. The table was made by my SIL and the chairs commissioned of someone at the Senior Center. They're wood with straw bottoms. Too small now for the grands. I don't have a lot of toys left from my children but I do have some and the grands have played with those and others I've bought at consignment shops and yard sales.
Thanks for taking us along on the walk. I think your photos are good enough to sale or for publishing in Birds and Blooms magazine.
Mama Bear
lots and lots of beautiful color in your day. enjoy the little one.
The picture on top, of the flower, looks to me just like a bridal bouquet! Lovely pics, Pat! And what a great day with Gavin. When my boys were born, my mom went on a garage sale adventure and bought TONS of toys to keep at her house, lol - better hers than mine!
Hey Pat, Loved "traveling" through your garden by the creek!!! Your photos are marvelous. I used to be quite a gardener myself in Alabama. I truly miss gardening. Use to have lots of indoor plants, also. Do you remember 315 Riverview? Would still like to get some soil and plants from Ace. Southern Living had an article on plants for our area. Ace has them. LUV U LOTS. JOYCE P.S. Gave all of the saved toys of my chilluns to them for theirs.
How lovely. Visiting your sight is always a tapestry of God's creative genuis, captured through the lens of your camera!!!
Thanks for stopping by. Hasn't God been good to us! Blessings.
Beautiful pictures, Patricia. Isn't he a sweet boy to play alone like that. Gavinator, that is cute. :) Love and Hugs,
Cathy
