...a few slices of life around me (in no particular order) the past ten days that I've been missing from action.
It's been ten days of fog and sunshine and precious time with dear friends and family and prayer time and writing time and waiting time and time to wander.
There are more days just like them to come, Lord willing.
Until next week, I leave you with these reminders:
"Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them"
A. A. Milne, Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh
THE FLOWER by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Once in a golden hour I cast to earth a seed. Up there came a flower, The people said, a weed. To and fro they went Thro' my garden-bower, And muttering discontent Cursed me and my flower. Then it grew so tall It wore a crown of light, But thieves from o'er the wall Stole the seed by night. Sow'd it far and wide By every town and tower, Till all the people cried`Splendid is the flower.' Read my little fable: He that runs may read. Most can raise the flowers now, For all have got the seed. And some are pretty enough, And some are poor indeed; And now again the people Call it but a weed.

As I see the pictures that song... "Spring is bustin out all over" comes to mind. I can't believe the azaleas/rhododendrons are blooming. I must go check on the trees behind the fence and see if any buds are swelling. I do have two small bushes that I neglected to get the proper name from the plant place. They were so fragile looking with thin arching branches and tiny leaves and then turned brown. Since I didn't know what they were, I didn't prune them.. this first winter... and now they are covered with tiny, teeny leaves.. even as the temperatures soar and plummet on a regular basis. It is time for me to plant my seeds in the seed starter.
Inside, is my small plastic aquarium and six black swallowtail chrysalis..... The sun angle must have been the deciding factor, because our temps were warm up until the cold took over in November. Now, I wonder when... when will they begin their journey. In the yard, their favorite fennel is starting to push through new green fronds... so soon, very soon.
I was hoping so much for a post from you today! I just put a backyard bird feeder up, and I wanted to see if I could take a picture of those birds. I thought of you all day and the glorious birds you capture on film!
Thank you dear one for these gorgeous pictures on a snowy cold day in Michigan...they give me hope that spring will come after all! The boys are too, too darling!
