"I must try and cultivate an eye for life's mercies...
And life, while it has its ugly swamps, its vile weeds, and its sharp thorns,
has always its fair flowers to charm the eye with their beauty,
or to fill the air with their fragrance..."
Rev. John Flowers Serjeant, 1878

Monday

All work and very little play...

Cerulean sky, bright sunlight, cool breezes - it's a stunningly beautiful day here on Pollywog Creek.

But I'm writing on assignment {with a deadline breathing down my neck}.

Be mature, I tell myself, and disciplined

Work first. Play outside later.

{Photo}from our visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Nashville, March 2009 - wouldn't writing be so much more fun if we had a laptop painted like that?

I so enjoy your photos, Patricia :). Thank you for your kind comment over at the Wellspring. I know what you mean about feeling shy about the photographing. It helped me to have my friend there and to do it together. We may make a point of doing this from time-to-time, in fact, we both enjoyed it so much. I did ask permission to photograph the people, but Taylor's is a big supporter of the arts and no one seemed to mind us shooting away. That may be the difference between locally owned and franchised, perhaps. It was a lovely feeling to get lost in the process and not feel one tiny bit self-conscious.

I pray your deadline is reached without perspiration! Love to you, friend :)

Thank you, Laura. Those photos were so inviting. What a wonderful place Taylor's must be...you are probably right about the difference between locals and franchises...and the artsy environment. If a place like that exists in our ag-oriented rural community, I'm clueless. =)
