"I must try and cultivate an eye for life's mercies...
And life, while it has its ugly swamps, its vile weeds, and its sharp thorns,
has always its fair flowers to charm the eye with their beauty,
or to fill the air with their fragrance..."
Rev. John Flowers Serjeant, 1878

Sunday

I {LOVE} Sunday::to know God is my refuge...

_DSC0252

But I will sing of your strength;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me a fortress
and a refuge in the day of my distress.

(Psalm 59:16 ESV)

I love the female cardinal--overlooked because of her flashy male counterpart. I love that she can pull off orange eye shadow! Beautiful shot!

Gorgeous photo! She looks like she's posing for you. xo

Hi Deanne! Thanks so much for commenting. I think the female cardinal's burnt orange is almost prettier than the male.

Jeanne!!! So happy to see your name here. It does look like she posed. I had one second to take the picture when off she flew. The flame bush berries that the cardinals and mockingbirds fought over dried up in our recent frosts/freezes and there's no reason for the birds to linger there.
