Saturday

Still Saturday::like a child...

A child has no platform,
no achievement.
Instead, a child must depend on another
for all that comes to him.

Jesus calls me to mature childlikeness
not an adult who still exists on milk,
needing another to feed her,
but a meat-eating child
who lives in joyful dependence on the Father.

Still Saturday::to bring honey to the hive of heaven...

Father, the redeemed are the treasure that populates heaven to Your glory.

Please use me. Make gospel connections between me and others so that I might add some to that glorious hoard of people -- from every tongue, tribe, language, race -- who will bring You glory when we stand before You, redeemed, in heaven.

Please express Your life through me that I might have a part in bringing honey to the hive of heaven.

Still Saturday:in every relationship whatever the circumstance...

If I have a word or verse for the year, it's to flourish and be fruitful and Psalm 92, When I'm still and quiet and contemplating the path I sense the LORD is placing before me in this season, I find encouragement in the wise words of Jean Fleming.
Fruitfulness in every season requires flexibility. The vision must be broad enough, deep enough, to transfer to my changing circumstances.
I can love God and love people to the grave and beyond.
I can do this in every relationship no matter where I am, whatever the circumstances in my life. I can abide in Christ and be a link in the chain to help others know and follow Him. Whether it is in intense, close relationships or brief glancing contacts with people or through prayer, I can seek to glorify God and further His kingdom.

Still Saturday::to look ahead...

Jesus warns against worrying about tomorrow,
not about preparing for tomorrow.

As I look ahead, Lord, reveal Yourself more fully to me.
Teach me how to prepare for the rest of my life.

What issues do I need to consider?
What truths must grip me more completely?
Lead me as I seek to make responsible preparations
in my mind, heart, and will.
May my preparations be informed
and fortified
with the great hope of the faith.

Still Saturday::to bless a fallen world...

shaped by glory

Too soon the time to glorify God with faith, hope, and obedience is passed.
Too soon it's too late to bless a fallen world.
